It Takes FBI Village To Elect Kev Speaker?

It might take a lot of alleged corruption, er, village to get Kevin McCarthy elected next week as House Speaker but such slime may be a quid quo as WSJ reports “House Republicans Plan a Committee on Censors & Snoops.”

Columnist Kimberley Strassel writes: “Tentatively called the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, it would look into abuses by the FBI, Justice Department & other agencies.” What? No jurisdiction over the government bureaucracy’s MSM allies as well?

Kim elaborates this way: “It takes a fair amount of malfeasance to land a new congressional committee. Congratulations to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Justice Department and other government censors and snoops. Sources tell me that House Republicans plan to set up [the] panel under the House Judiciary Committee” that was “among the demands of some GOP holdouts to Kevin McCarthy’s bid for speaker.” Lo and behold, she goes on, “The Republican leader has publicly expressed his support for the subcommittee’s creation, which hinges on the rebels’ willingness to join the rest of their conference and back him in next Tuesday’s vote.” Frankly, I’d suggest holding out until the panel’s marching orders included the MSM … Jus’ sayin.’
