Jan 6 Showed 1 Thing: Radicalism’s Democracy’s Enemy

Is the real take away from the Jan 6 Capital riot that radicalism on BOTH sides of the political spectrum are democracy’s biggest enemy cause it robs everyone of reason? So suggests the WSJ in its “Democracy Isn’t Dying” as it recalls the craziness in DC over past 5 years & how those in the Swamp abused the Rule of Law.

From Hillary Clinton’s trumped-up Russia Collusion dossier supposedly explaining how Putin stole the 2016 election from her to President Trump’s conspiracy theory on how he lost the WH in 2020 and all points in between … the one fact connecting all the dots is the reliance by all players on the wholesale abandonment of common sense. How can there be a debate when either side is always, absolutely, positively right ala God, albeit however implausible the position taken?

While the editorial board warns a lot of the nonsense will continue into the 2022 midterms as the Democrats seem especially bent on making the “Jan 6” fiasco into another “Remember 9/11” or “Pearl Harbor,” the good news they remind is this: “Jan 6 was a riot, not an insurrection, and U.S. institutions held.” And, as Abe predicted, they will continue to do so as long as radicalism is seen by good, sensible people for what it really is ...
