Jesus’ Last Supper & Lasting Victory Over Death

Fox reports 2021 was “deadliest year in US history” no thanks to Covid, drug overdoses & more, BUT take heart as Jesus reminded His Apostles at His Last Supper that the WORST of times will invariably lead to the BEST of times … Journalist-author Jim Bishop, e.g., related in “The Day Christ Died” this assurance in His own words & at the most trying time in His short life:

… “A little while and you do not see Me … I must be perfectly frank with you: You will weep & lament, while the world rejoices. You will be plunged in sorrow, but your sorrow will be turned into joy. When a woman is about to give birth, she is in sorrow because here hour has come; but when she has brought forth a child, she no longer remembers her pangs for sheer joy that a human being has been born into the world. So you, too: At present you are in sorrow; but I shall see you again & then your hearts will rejoice & no one will take your joy away from you.”

As Jesus further cautioned, however, it’s not that anyone, even the Son of God, is exempt from the trials & tribulations of life while on earth: “Mark well: A time is coming, in fact, it is at hand, when you will scatter, each going back to his home & leave Me all alone! Not that I am really alone, for the Father is with Me. I have forewarned you … that you may find peace of soul in union with Me. In the world, afflictions are in store for you. But, have courage; I have overcome the world.”
