Joe Feels Puerto Rican Not Mexican Misery

Joe travels to Puerto Rico for Hurricane Fiona recovery update but can’t find our overrun southern border with Mexico? Joe explains he was raised around Puerto Ricans “at home politically,” meaning 2024 election nears?

Not that the islanders don’t need help as they were ravaged by that recent killer storm. But, maybe Joe would have been better off NOT expressing all his feelings for why he showed up THERE and not ever THERE aka the overrun Mexican border: “We have a very … large Puerto Rican population in Delaware,” he was quoted as saying by Fox. “I was sort of raised in the Puerto Rican community at home, politically. We came here for a long time as part of both business and pleasure. I’m committed to this island.”

Of course, Joe’s favored Puerto Ricans live in a “US territory” and, therefore, are sort of American citizens. Perhaps most importantly to politicians, as Joe candidly suggests, is the fact that while they cannot vote in a federal general election, they do get to vote in US presidential primaries. Recall Donald Trump getting trounced by Marco Rubio in PR’s 2016 GOP primary. Of course, no such voting complication allures Mr. Biden to the fate of their Mexican brethren illegally crossing our border, often in squalor, and/or at the behest of inhumane, drug-peddling coyotes. Maybe a cynic would say political as well as business gamesmanship, rather than true feelings of nostalgic comradery, is why Joe pledged $60 million in federal assistance to PR. But, we can agree with No. 46 on one thing: Puerto Rico is a great place to sell our crap to and vaca in; and, there’s so many of THOSE PEOPLE in Joe's Sweet Home Delaware …
