Joe’s Dirty Eco Secrets Come Out In Wash?

So Biden’s latest bad woke joke, a washing machine rule that would make American’s dirtier & stinkier & poorer? Mfrs warn latest eco-idea would hike cost of Tide & cut water used in cycles that leave behind more germs?

As the Fox coverage noted: “Last month, Pres Biden’s Dept of Energy proposed new efficiency standards for washing machines that require new appliances to use considerably less water, all in an effort to ‘confront the global climate crisis.’” As the Washington Free Beacon reported after talking to balking industry leaders, however: “Each cycle will take longer, the detergent [as well as the washing machine] will cost more, and in the end, the clothes will be less clean.” Just last month, the same bureaucrats led by the Commander in Chief got a fierce hosing from consumers & businesses after proposing to ban half of America’s gas stoves. Yet another proposal involved more regulation of refrigerators.

As always, the fed regulators deny the naysayers know what they’re talking about. Energy Dept gurus may concede that the new efficiency standards will raise the cost of appliances but insist their new tough love standards are justified on premise they’ll not only save Mother Earth but reduce consumer spending on energy & water. Counters AEI fellow James Coleman, “If that were true, consumers would likely buy more efficient appliances anyway … [regardless] the standards would, on-net, harm consumers” as noted above. And, he adds, the harm would be disproportionate to low-income fams who would be cut off from the more expensive units. BTW: “The Energy Dept estimates that manufacturers will incur nearly $700 million in conversion costs to transition to the new machines” who, will pass them on to … CONSUMERS. Wait. How is this going to save Earth again?
