Henninger in “Debt-Ceiling Madness” recalls Biden saying House GOP is “fiscally demented” & waxes “There must be a word for the mega-trillions he’s spent in 2 yrs.” There’s several: Demagoguery. Incompetence. Naivety. Foolishness.

As the WSJ columnist noted: “There comes a point in every politician’s life of doublespeak when he has to tell the truth. John Kerry’s came this year in Davos. Asked how to achieve the always-receding goals of climate control, he said, ‘Money, money, money, money, money, money, money.’” Yet, Mr. Biden has apparently never gotten the memo as he continues to pretend every problem today was created by someone else (usually Trump) “before I got here.” Think Afghanistan fiasco; Ukraine invasion by Russia; record inflation; rampant crime by repeat offenders; massive, uncontrolled invasion of our southern border; COVID resurgence; the PRC balloon that sailed from America’s Sea to Shining Sea …

And, that leads us to the Biden-McCarthy show now playing out in the Swamp as they supposedly “negotiate” the nation’s 31.7 TRILLION debt and whether to “let” the USA default on its obligations. As Henninger says, “The endgame is not in question. The debt ceiling will be raised. What happens between now and the June deadline is a messaging competition. Who will the public blame if the US [really does go] to the brink of default?” One absolute certainty: Joe will say it’s House Speaker McCarthy’s fault … and Trump’s.
