Just Facts Vindicated On Covid Lockdowns?

“Dragnet’s” Sgt Joe Friday made famous the line “Just the facts, ma’am” & we might now give “Just Facts” 2 thumbs up for warning overreacting CDC, pols & MSM on the economic & health dangers of Covid lockdowns.

As Fox Business reported in the wake of more studies showing lockdowns may have caused more harm on the economy as well as folks than previously publicized, the conservative think tank had already begun warning in March 2020 on the “mortal dangers in overreacting because measures to limit the spread of Covid-19 often have economic impacts that can cost lives.” Seven subsequent times, but to no avail, the group published information on the latest Covid studies that were arguably “ahead of the medical community," policy makers & media.

“Without a vaccine, the only way people can become immune to Covid-19 is by catching it and recovering,” Just Facts wrote from the beginning. “This means that too much social distancing may cause more deaths because young, healthy people – who would otherwise catch the disease, recover quickly and become firewalls – remain potential carriers.” Meanwhile, however, “over 100 nations were implementing lockdowns using phrases such as “15 days to slow the spread” and “flatten the curve.” The overriding message & the policy it sustained for nearly two years “promised citizens that lockdowns & social distancing were the best way to crush the virus.” The MSM likewise “touted the effectiveness of lockdowns, incl the NY Times, which ran headlines in spring 2020 suggesting the mandated restrictions were ‘working’ & delays in implementing them were costing lives.” And yet, more Covid victims died in the US under the Fauci-Biden-led lockdown policy than when Trump was president.
