Kerry’s Davos Speech Burns Remagen Bridge
Some called Kerry’s Davos speech a “rant” while WSJ said the ex-SOS finally admitted he thinks only an at-all-costs WWII effort to control the weather, one as fanatical as that used to beat the Nazis, will MAYBE save the planet.
In “John Kerry Lays it All Out on Climate Change,” the editorial board suggests Mr. Kerry’s call for such a global “mobilization” may be a lot of hot air in a lot of ways, but it is rarified for its candor in admitting, “Let’s face it, a whole bunch of companies in the world have chosen to say, ‘I’m going to be net zero by 2050 … And, you and I, we know they don’t have a clue how they’re going to get there. And most of them are not on track to get there.”
In other words, everyone but the self-appointed Winston Churchill is a liar or denier? Some way for Winnie to talk about an ally as if he were dissing Russia’s Joe for unceasingly imploring the US & Britain to start a second front before it was feasible? Observed the editors: “Maybe that’s because no one else knows [including Kerry] because with current technology [a fossil fuel free globe] isn’t possible. That’s certainly true of governments in the US and Europe, which have committed to zeroing out their CO2 emissions by 2050 but haven’t implemented the policies or developed the technologies to get there. Not that it would make much difference if they did as long as China and India continue to build coal plants to fuel their economic growth” at the West’s expense.
