Kung Fu Zeldin Saves Life 4 Gov Mansion

GOP NY gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin says his “black belt” training & fast thinking helped him fend off attacker at campaign speech so supporters could tackle Cretin who’s soon out on bail thanks to NY’s “bail” law.

As related by Fox News, Zeldin was at the Veterans of Foreign Wars post event in Perinton, NY, when “a man identified as David G. Jakubonis lunged at Zeldin’s neck with a sharp object.” Thanks to his self-defense skills Zeldin was able to defend himself until others nearby subdued the attacker. “At that moment when he was coming at me, it was just a simple move,” Zeldin explained. “I just grabbed his wrist in a particular way to hold it there. It was only for a few moments that was necessary for a bunch of people to tackle him.” Charged with attempted assault, Jakubonis was quickly released due to NY’s cashless bail law, under which, Zeldin had tweeted, he’d be release asap … and he was.

Back to Zeldin’s Kung Fu move that I can relate to. As a law student in Sweet Home Chicago circa 1975 I was paying for tuition by working a truck delivery route in the tough 63rd & Stoney neighborhood. Disobeying my boss’s instructions, I parked one day in a store’s alley to unload some goods. When I turned around there’s this punk with an ice pick in his hand in a No. 51 Dick Butkus linebacker crouch stance. Having taken a marshall arts class at my undergrad UIC, my learned instincts also kicked in ala Zeldin. Without thinking and in one masterful side-armed move, I swiped the ice pick out of the wanna-be attackers grasp and assumed the Butkus stance myself. The punk slinked off and I completed my appointed rounds. Ah, education!
