Manchin-Schumer Energy Deal A Bald Lie?

What has this country & its Congress come to when one man, Sen. Joe Manchin, can make a fossil fuel permit “side deal” benefiting HIS state while saddling rest of the country with billions in a wasteful green new deal?

The latest MSM coverage shows even many Dems “pushing back” on what some call a “dirty environmental deal.” Then, there’s the furious GOP opposition. Meanwhile, the adults in the room struggle with the logic behind it all. As the WSJ’s editorial board recently opined: “Even assuming the need for an energy transition, fossil fuels are still needed today and tomorrow. Look around – California is struggling to avoid electricity blackouts, while America’s allies in Europe are contemplating energy rationing this winter … “

Not that Manchin’s reform quid pro quo isn’t arguably needed, i.e., getting the Dems to no longer block at least some of the Trump Administration’s liberalized fossil exploration permit policies, esp as it affects the W. Va coal industry. In fact, “that permitting reform could also expedite transit projects or solar farms … There’s a reason the American Wind Energy Assn celebrated President Trump’s permitting changes.” But, as “The Deal” is expected to be attached to another VERY expensive funding bill, the WSJ warns, we don’t even know the devil in the details of the “super-secret” Manchin-Schumer pact. Could it be there were no details from the get go and Joe & Chuck have been winging it ala bald eagles?
