Michelle says she “couldn’t stand” Barack while he was still po’ community activist cause SHE got stuck doing most of the fam work? BUT, herself a budding atty always “respected” B’s smarts, esp as he kissed Chicago butts to become Illinois Senator, then, richer pres?

What’s wrong with THAT picture? Maybe there’s something lost in the translation of the former First Lady’s recent interview with Revolt. Let’s recall Michelle was the first Obama to bring in a sizeable paycheck as a Sidley & Austin lawyer whilst pro bono Barack was being courted by Chicago pols to be their minority Senator who would become King, er, President. And, the Obama’s had two young girls to care for, i.e., in between long, exhausting work hours. We get how that works & the strains it can have on any young couple.

Michelle elaborated this way about her troubled early relationship: “For 10 yrs while were trying to build our careers and worrying about school and who’s doing what and what, I was like, Argh, this isn’t even!’ And, guess what? Marriage isn’t 50/50, ever. Ever. There are times I’m 70, he’s 30. There are times he’s 60, 40. But, guess what? Ten years. We’ve been married 30. I would take 10 bad yrs over 30.” The couple’s latest mega-bucks book & tv deals have surely gotten them a lot of happiness now? As for that enlightening remark about Michelle not being able to stand the man when a supposedly shiftless young father, many couldn’t stand him while allegedly twiddling his thumbs as head of the American family. His legacy may be golden with legions by virtue of being the nation’s first Black president, but history will have a tough time ignoring the country’s struggles with 8 LOOONG years of a stagnating economy under his sleepy watch while ISIS grew its caliphate until bigger than the Land of Lincoln. Argh!
