More Ways To Skin College Wokeism

Mid-Term elections results may show how the school board election revolt continues as many progressives were tossed or blocked from office by voters BUT one college grad reminds “I had to unlearn 4 yrs of wokeism.”

In the Fox News story, one Annabella Rockwell says she was “taught victimhood and oppression” at Mount Holyoke, a $60,000-a-year liberal women’s college in South Hadley, Mass. She told Tucker Carlson she was “oppressed by a toxic, patriarchal society” and her mother reportedly had to pay a “deprogrammer” $300 each day to save her from the self-described “cult-like” college education.

Well, this Boomer Baby witnessed plenty of psychologically traumatized students graduating from UIC during the crazy Vietnam War years and Mayor Daleys bizarre “police riot” during the 1968 Democratic National Convention. No doubt the kids at Kent State were especially freaked out, too, after being visited by the National Guard in their state. Maybe some college kids in every state needed to be deprogrammed from the socialist propaganda they were so often fed by leftist profs if not the radical Students for a Democratic Society. Yet, it’d be a good guess that the large majority of those tainted if not brainwashed kids eventually became wiser aka more centrist as the years went by – a job, car loan, marriage, mortgage, 2.5 kids & a Cubs World Series win will do that to ya. At least, don’t underestimate the power of common sense in the human brain as demonstrated by the 2022 mid-term local school board elections.
