“Most Beautiful Man” A Priest?

So Florence’s “Most beautiful man” gave up blossoming modeling career to become a priest, saying “I am here to discover” the true meaning for my life. Does “love,” then, mean always being able to say “I made a mistake”?

The Fox News story began by noting how Edoardo Santini was already a famous model at age 17 after winning ABE’s 2019 pageant & being crowned “the most beautiful man.”  Italy’s Il Globo also noted how well-rounded a male he was by winning swimming competitons. Life was good. You’d think. Recently, however Edoardo entered a seminary and, “God willing,” will hopefully enter the priesthood: “I’ve decided to give up modeling work, acting & dance, but I won’t abandon my passions,” Edoardo explained, “I’ll just live them differently.” He said he would be “offering” his passions “to God” now that he has found his life’s true purpose. The Times UK reported how Edoardo recently started posting on his Instagram account questions about faith, writing last year that he “discovered the real Church, which I thought was dead.”

That all changed last year when the wanna-be priest went to live with two priests to get a sense of the lifestyle and concluded “it was the most beautiful experience of my life … Obviously, some people talk about me behind my back, some people have no problem telling me I have let them down, both inside & outside my family, but others are supporting me, believers & non-believers.” He insists he has no regrets because now “I can shout: ‘I am Edoardo, I am 21 & I am happy’ … Will I become a priest? I don’t know, I am here [to find out if the calling is for real.] But I have taken the step that [once] terrorized me, that stopped me finally being myself. I am ready to say, ‘I made a mistake.’”
