Musk We Love Cuba[n]’s DEI Team?
Musk disses Cuban’s love affair with DEI, wonders when we’ll see “a short white/Asian woman” on the Mav minority owner’s court. But, isn’t at heart of this debate a need for LOGIC & TALENT in ANY human undertaking?
So, who’s really arguing that “diversity, equity & inclusion” can’t be a good thing, Biblically speaking? As billionaire Cuban had first argued: If you don’t think there is a need for DEI & it doesn’t create a competitive advantage for your company,” just look at the many positive feedback his gotten from DEI admirers. Musk didn’t say it exactly, yet might he have also responded that “even Jesus Christ, as diverse, equitable & inclusive as his team of Jewish rivals was, did NOT have a short female gentile amongst his Chosen 12”? Put another way & without maybe knowing it, Musk hit upon the inherent weakness in the current progressive mania for DEI by showing how naïve its implementation can be & has been in many corporate & social settings when lacking common sense.
Musk, also a billionaire, might also have reminded Mr. Cuban, a capitalist & no communist, that taking a good “idea” and turning into a “policy from hell” is exactly how the DEI-crazed communists historically (e.g., in Cuba, Russia, North Korea, China …) have not only tried to control THEIR idea of a good society via their “party slaves, er, comrades,” & stomp on everyone else’s, no matter how illogical it turns out in practice. Consider, too, the stinking lilies of the field in Big City USA, as Machine aldermen have used THEIR notion of right & wrong to politically impose for decades now their lousy schools, crime protection & immigrant rights on the average chumbolone … or, mob-style union leaders’ forcing non-union workers to join or starve … or, do-gooders insisting illegal immigrants have not only voting rights but a right to free cash, education, medical insurance & even sex changes … or, Kerry-ites who now demand we not only give up our gas stoves, but our burgers as well as house plants to save the planet. Slam dunk, Mark?
