Mustang Redesign Sexy If Can A Ford
Ford tells Green Dems smoke this in their tail pipe as new Mustang sticks with gas engine & is anything but an EV. For all its sucking up to DC Swamp, Ford still remembers how the pony saved its crippled rear end in 70s oil woes.
As the WSJ’s auto page piece noted: “In the EV era, [this] auto maker isn’t ready to abandon loud, powerful engines that have been critical to the sports car’s appeal.” Tell me about it. I owned one hell of a sexy blue, white striped Mustang convertible sometime after the 2008 market crash & got my share of jealous stars from envious neighbors. Little did they know the gas guzzler was giving me 12-14 miles per gallon and, aside from all the fun in driving around town with the top down (during Chicago’s gorgeous falls NOT miserable winters), I was glad to unload her in the end.
In revealing its next-generation Mustang Wednesday at the Detroit Auto Show, Ford Motor clearly is betting its first redesign in nearly a decade will continue to lure suckers, er, “enthusiast who still want to feel the rumble of an engine under the hood.” Brilliant! But, just hold on to the old wallet as the pump & its price in Joe’s green economy keeps rumbling …
