My Kingdom For A Working EV Charger
An EV owner proudly said he could travel 120 miles without a battery charge. Yet, I need to go 140 miles between my two homes & don’t want to scavenger hunt for a charging station, many of which are broken to boot.
Joanna Stern wrote as much in the WSJ. She said she had earned a medal for “Most Patient EV Charger.” How’d she figure that? Ms. Stern explained, “Over the course of 48 hours, with few naps or bathroom breaks, [I] examined more than 120 non-Tesla EV fast-charging stalls across Los Angeles, battling out-of-order signs, payment issues & bad ‘handshakes.’”
This isn’t funny, of course. Some might think the author’s Don Quixote quest for a battery charge in her Mustang EV disgusting … that The Swamp & those trying to cash in on a mandated shift from fossil fueled vehicles to battery-operated ones, would foist this fiasco on us without proper preparation. So where are the charging stations promised to be as numerous as the BPs & Exxons? And, ones that work? Was Shakespeare in Richard III prescient in declaring, “My kingdom for a horse!”
