My Vacuous Dinner With Kamala
Recall the rant in “My Dinner With Andre” about an old man’s terror at seeing his wife dying of cancer but a skin doc says “how lucky we are” her sores are better today? That delusion & disconnect with reality sums up Harris campaign’s propaganda & WSJ’s op ed titled “Awful Jobs Report Aside, Economy Is Strong.”
Throw in the fact that Harris & her Democrat supporters are bragging how the rate of “inflation” increases is down, while every Mom & Dad who does the grocery shopping knows it costs 20-30% or more to buy a good cut of steak now than under Trump. As columnist Kimberly Strassel reminded her own colleagues, sure, “The Economy is ‘Glorious’ – if You’re Wealthy.” As Kim notes, “Asset values have grown, but the working class bears the brunt of inflated prices & higher interest rates” thanks to the Biden-Harris progressive spending spree for the ages … with little benefit to show the average taxpayer for it.
Delusion & wishful thinking with a dash of Blarney in Harris’s word salad campaign, it might be argued then, is exactly what it appears to be to Nikki Haley & other critics: Smoke & Mirrors from a “vacuous” politician. As President Trump has recently asked by recalling the simple yet famous words of Ronald Reagan when he was first running for POTUS: “Are YOU better off than you were for years ago?”
