Newt Playing Dems & MSM 4 Folds?
After warning GOP of overconfidence heading into the mid-term elections, Newt Gingrich takes Dems & MSM allies to task for “refusing to see Republican wave coming this November.” Apparent flip-flop or mo friendly fold?
In slang, “never fold” sort of means that when things get tough, the tough get going … to stay the course. Hence, Newt’s latest warning on the midterms that the GOP is far from down & out. On the contrary, this time, the former House Speaker is telling the emboldened Dems to not crow too much about their latest so-called “successes” & the MSM to mindlessly echo their “mo-mentum” refrain. As Newt opined on Fox News: “The legacy, left-wing media is at best misunderstanding – & at worst deliberately distorting – the evidence that a Republican-led wave wave election is coming.
Forget for a minute, Newt urged, that incumbent parties historically get creamed in mid-terms, or that today’s “Democrat-led Congress has a 79% disapproval rating” while Biden is “hovering at 53% disapproval.” Dems & their MSM allies pointing to one or two congressional close call victories in 2% points “should be cause for alarm,” not Champagne, he argues. Perhaps same for poll “bumps” due to voter bribes by way of college debt forgiveness & an inflationary Anti-Inflation Act that some say are boomeranging. Also stop “obsessing over Senate Minority Ldr McConnell’s recent comment that the Senate elections would be tough for Republicans.” His Super PAC is pouring “tens-of-millions of dollars into” Senate races he “clearly intends to win.” Then, we’re told there’s a “massive Republican voter enthusiasm” along with an “enormous Republican voter registration across the country.” Spoken like a grinning Truman on Nov. 4, 1948 reading front page of the Chicago Tribune?
