NFL Glory Buffaloed Chiefly Thanks 2 Dumb OT Rule

Was NFL’S greatest play-off game tarnished Sunday when the KC Chiefs beat the Buffalo Bills 42-36 in OT? That is, thanks to a foolish rule helping a coin flip after regulation play determine who got 1st crack at getting game ending TD?

The Bills’ defenseless fans were rightly pissed when the Chief’s QB Mahomes found TE Kelce in the end zone for a TD in a kind of “sudden death” OT after an epic see-saw exchange of TDs in the waning moments of the 4rth Quarter between Mahomes & Bills’ QB Allen. No Josh. Both Mahomes & Allen were out of this world spectacular in leading their offenses in lightning scoring strikes that seemed to hardly take any time off the clock as regulation time wound down. Yet, it was Mahomes who got the chance under the NFL’s strange rule that ended the game by winning the OT coin toss, then, score a TD, without Allen getting a chance to get a tying TD.

Now, it’s understandable that this “sudden death” approach to ending games tied after regulation envisions saving the health and protecting the safety of worn-out players. BUT, IN THE PLAY OFFS leading up to the Superbowl don’t the stakes far outweigh the SMALL EXTRA risk to players, especially after having played 17 regular season games & two play-off games? Ask the Bills fans if they weren’t buffaloed.
