NY Times Pundits Eat Crow, Dish Excuses

NY Times mia culpas by elitist pundits Krugman (what inflation?) & Stephens (all Trump supporters are “appalling”) come better late than never but buyer beware the apologies are coded aka “I never learn.”

Especially, the so-called economic guru Krugman who for months lambasted any colleague who warned the nation’s inflation was going to skyrocket thanks to the Biden Administration’s radicalized progressive agenda, only to see, well, inflation skyrocket to a 40-yr high. Now, “a humbled” Krugman says he, too, should have seen prices soaring thanks to Uncle Sam’s “massive” pandemic subsidizes to individuals & businesses under the $1.9T American Rescue Plan. Yet, he conditioned his foolishness by saying he wasn’t the only one being fooled by the “historical data” he was foolishly relying on. And “of course … disruptions associated with the pandemic” could not possibly have been foreseen by anyone in Bernie Sanders’ orbit.

Then, there’s political analyst Bret Stephens whose mia culpa says he still thinks Donald Trump is “appalling” and a “threat to democracy”, but he unequivocally admits the Russian Collusion slam vs No. 45 was “bogus.” He now regrets constantly arguing anyone not agreeing that Trump is & always will be appalling are themselves “appalling.” He says, that “broad swipe at his voters caricatured them & blinkered me.” Stephens says Trump supporters were “proudly raising their middle finger at a self-satisfied elite that had produced a failing status quo … thrice betrayed by the nation’s elites” in the Afghan Wars, the 2008 financial crisis & PC wokism run amok. As noted, eating half a loaf of crow is better than none.
