“Of Mice & Men” or Biden’s "Chumps" & His "Dark Winter”
President Trump’s inspiring weekend rallies with thousands of well-wishers across the land were not only a testament to his "superman" strength, but to the “loving” attendees’ embracing his call to fight, not hide from, the “plague that came from CHINA.” It also showed a growing rejection of challenger Joe Basement Biden’s belief in a “dark winter” ahead, unless the nation is locked down again for up to another year…or more.
To be sure, the President who survived the coronavirus along with his family repeatedly emphasized, we all have to implement the lessons we’ve “learned” from the pandemic: “We have to protect our seniors & those most at risk…those with diabetes, heart conditions, [undergoing] cancer treatment.” Yet, he warned again, “We have to [re]open our country [responsibly] or there will be no country to [re]open.” Mr. Trump said so months ago when he led the charge to temporarily shutdown the economy so our medical pros could get a handle on this plague, while Biden was calling him a “racist” for doing so. Now, the mortality rate is "down 85%" & "vaccines are coming soon" thanks to our experts' acumen.
There, in a nutshell, is the difference between a leader who fights life’s challenges courageously & a hand-ringing, finger pointing wannabe. Mr. Biden notably called the once “deplorable” Trump supporters "chumps" for showing up at one of his non-rallies to challenge his defeatist mentality. What was Steinbeck’s Depression-Era warning of how “the best laid schemes o’ mice an’ men…often go awry” while suggesting the difference between rodents & humans may be the ability to think clearly in the face of desperation?
