Radical environmentalists, read the sub-headline & weep: “Schumer-Manchin” aka Anti-Inflation Act “will have little effect on the world’s temperature” so cut the crap about “a historic victory that will … hold back the rising sea & save the planet.” WSJ contributor Bjorn Lomborg reviewed the UN’s climate model to measure the impact on global temperature by 2100 & found the law will, at best, reduce the global temp by all of 0.028 degrees Fahrenheit (or, in worst case scenario, only 0.0009 degrees). “In other words,” the editors conclude, “the climate provisions in this ballyhooed legislation will have NO NOTABLE IMPACT ON CLIMATE.

As noted here before, the reality of environmental reality vs political pandering & fearmongering is this: “No matter what the US does to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions, it will be dwarfed by what the rest of the world does … China, India and Africa aren’t about to stop burning fossil fuels as they develop and China is sprinting ahead to build huge new coal capacity despite its pledge to start reducing emissions AFTER 2030.” BTW: What’s that other headline about the progressive EU once hell-bent on “transitioning” its power grid to alternative energy sources now scrambling back to fossil fuels as the Russkies predictably play games with selling them the natural gas they’ve become dependent on?
