Our Giggling VP Bombs At Naval Academy ala GI Joe

Maybe it’s unfair to make sport of VPs with chronic foot-in-mouth disease like Agnew, Quayle & Biden, but Kamala Harris, “The Giggling VP,” may have hit a new low. As the WSJ’s columnist Gerard Baker noted, “Harris Bombs at the Naval Academy” with one of the worst 2021 commencement speeches.” The VP’s lowlight, according to Mr. Baker: “Just ask any Marine today, would she rather carry 20 pounds of batteries or a rolled-up solar panel, and I am positive she will tell you a solar panel – and so would he.”

Noted the columnist: “Ms. Harris’s attempt at gender-inclusive, environment-friendly comedy elicited an appreciative & raucous peal of laughter --- but only from her. The rest of the audience looked like they wanted to crawl under the nearest solar panel.” It reminded me of numerous times on the campaign trail when the VP did the same thing … her guffaw is kind of a cross between a horse’s snort & a hyena’s cackle … after a tone-deaf “joke” that only she thought worked.

Concluded Baker: “Ms. Harris’s face-plant was no better than her boss’s a week earlier, during his address to the Coast Guard Academy. At least Ms. Harris didn’t try to break the awkward silences after the failed jokes by telling the audience they were ‘really dull,’ as Mr. Biden did…But, as I watched the performances by the commander in chief & his would-be successor, it was hard to resist the suspicion that the young patriots who have signed up for service [and say they’re willing to lay down their life, if necessary, to defend their country] aren’t quite aligned with the regnant [woke] ideology preached by the brass and their Democratic overlords.” You think our VP gets that the joke is on her?
