Pa’s Brain Impaired & Brain Dead Elected

That a dead Pa Dem state rep was re-elected in a landslide may show remarkable party savvy as colleagues maintained or that some progressives have been rendered braindead after 50 yrs of failed policies.

Didn’t Pennsylvanians just elect a recovering stroke victim to the US Senate? But, in this case, maybe lean toward the “savvy” take since the alternative was to vote for the Green Party candidate whose resume sounds like the also dead Che Guevara’s. Now, at least, a special election will have to be held and the Dem regulars will be in the best position to control the outcome they like.

As Fox News noted, Democrat Anthony “Tony” DeLuca died Oct. 9 at age 85 “after a brief bout with lymphoma, a disease he twice previously beat.” Mr. DeLuca had served his district for nearly 4 decades and never came close to losing a campaign; in fact, the GOP did not bother to run a candidate against him this year. Tweeted the Pennsylvania House Democrats: “While we’re incredibly saddened by the loss of Representative Tony DeLuca, we are proud to see the voters to continue to show their confidence in him and his commitment to Democratic values by re-electing him posthumously.” Dunno about the values thing, but do know DeLuca’s opponent, Queonia “Zarah” Livingston, ran on a left-wing platform that focused on “environmental justice,” “ending the war on drugs,” and “reducing gun violence,” all on a state rep’s salary. She promises to show up at that special election again, as do the Republicans, who apparently couldn’t dig up enough dirt on Mr. DeLuca to run a candidate against him before he died.
