Paris’ Notre Dame Turning Into Woke Disney Park?

Renovators of Paris’ fire-ravaged Notre Dame Cathedral are being slammed for secret plans to turn it into a “woke theme park” ... instead of confessionals, altars & ancient sculptures Parisians would get mod murals, sound & light shows & emotional spaces.

According to the Telegraph quoting a number of sources who purportedly saw the latest plans, tourists would also be treated to a “discovery trail” that beams Bible passages onto the walls in assorted languages, including Mandarin. And, one sanctuary would be dedicated to the environment, which issue btw is No. 1 with Pope Francis. “It’s as if Disney were entering Notre Dame,” Paris architect Maurice Culot told the newspaper. What they are proposing to do to Notre Dame would never be done to Westminster Abbey or Saint Peter’s in Rome. It’s a kind of theme park & very childish & trivial given the grandeur of the place.” Another source asked, “Can you imagine the administration of the Holy See allowing something like this … a politically correct Disneyland … in the Sistene Chapel?”

Safety measures were recently completed & French President Macron’s 2024 re-opening date for a cost exceeding $1B seems on track. The Church, we’re told, is thinking its “restorations” should make the church more “accessible” & “understandable to people all over the world.” The introduction of interactive displays in the world’s largest basilicas are no longer unheard of. For instance, St. Marks Basilica in Venice has several relating historical details for tourists normally found in guide books. Yet, worry the critics: “This is political correctness gone mad … They want to turn Notre Dame into an experimental liturgical showroom that exists nowhere else, whereas it should be a landmark where the slightest change must be handled with great care.”
