Pierce Brosnan Ducks Van Dyke Fan

Momma Mia! And you thought suave Pierce Brosnan also of James Bond fame had his sway with dames. Think again as he files restraining order against persistent Mary Poppins-like woman who thinks he’s Dick Van Dyke…

It’s a long unfolding drama reported by the LA Times but the short of the sad script is this: “The James Bond actor issued the complaint [with LA police & court alleging] that the 55-yr-old woman, identified as Michelle Welch Mulready, had been ‘parked in front of my house, stalking me, my family & guests.’” Apparently, Ms. Mulready had been living in her car for weeks and had thought she had found the home of just-as-famous actor Van Dyke whose facsimile was tattooed on her arm. But, when she realized it was Brosnan’s casa and the man inside was just as rich, she sent him a drawing of himself and a note saying she needed $1,500 for new tires.

It's not known if Pierce had tried to first use his legendary charm on Mulready, but under the court order he requested, she’s barred from “harassing, intimidating or … contacting Brosnan & his family.” She also must pine away at least 400 yards away from the Pierce home, car, studio or schools. If Mr. Van Dyke might advise Pierce instead, however, he might suggest that with a little bit ‘o luck he’d be better off “throwing some goodness” at Mulready, then, get ready to “duck.”
