Pompeo Torches Russian Nuke Talks As Ukraine Burns

Trump’s SOS Mike Pompeo ripped Pres. Biden for negotiating a new nuclear deal with Russia in Vienna last week while Putin’s legions rained bombs on Ukraine.

“We’re [now] sitting on the same side of the table with the Russians in Vienna,” Pompeo told Fox News as he shook his head in disbelief. “This is just absurd – I can’t remember a time in history when you had a nation that’s gone to war with a friend and an ally and you decided, hey, we’re going to negotiate with you…as [if] partners.”

Meanwhile, the sanctions the Biden Administration has already imposed and still might impose, Pompeo argued, “won’t be strong enough to deter what’s happening this afternoon or tomorrow” & with the threat of WWIII weighing upon everyone’s minds should that conflict escalate. Yet, by “shutting own American energy, we are fueling a communist invasion.” Instead, Pompeo urged No. 46 to immediately “allow American crude oil & natural gas [to be shipped] to support the Ukrainian people & Europe.” In the longer term, he also advised returning to the Trumpian strategy of gaining energy independence so that the US becomes an exporter of gas, oil & renewables, thereby taking away Putin’s energy leverage over Europe, “just like we did the Iranians & Chinese during our time in office … Those are the kind of things that change the calculus for thugs like Vladimir Putin,” as well as China’s Xi & North Korea’s Kim. If only this strategy had been allowed to continue 12 months ago would Kyiv now be under seige?
