Pope’s Same Sex Appeal Christ-like?

Some conservative Bishops in Africa & Asia pushed back against Pope’s green light to bless same sex couples if not marriage? Q may be did Francis fall into a devilish trap by wading into another drummed up nonissue?

As the WSJ coverage noted, “The bishops of Zambia, Malawi & the archdiocese of Kazakhstan prohibited their priests from offering [any] such blessings”. And, the bishops of Ukraine lamented what they called the ambiguity of the recent Vatican declaration’s wording, which they warned could suggest approval of gay relationships.” On the other hand, we’re told “bishops in some /European countries including Germany, Austria & Switzerland welcomed the new policy.”

But, has anyone ever really needed anyone’s blessing when God is the obvious ultimate decider? To Francis’ credit, he was apparently trying to “take a conciliatory approach to LGBTQ people, without formally changing church teaching” holding homosexual acts as “intrinsically disordered.” Of course, it has been, is & will continue to be one of those many issues among us humans whose “resolution” doesn’t please everyone. Surprised? For some, it’s so tiring to see such endless diverse religious views that lead us to endless social as well as military wars. Had enough of Hamas wailings? Ever hear of the IRA? Or, the Huguenots way back when? Jesus knew what He was getting into before being crucified. That’s why He forgave us for our sins from the cross itself, tell us, it’s ok, I’m here to save all of you, even nitpickers.
