Progressive Cities Eye “American Nightmare”?

See signs Inner cities increasingly doomed? Trashy homeless camps housing more mental addicts than not, taxpayers & businesses fleeing, unchecked crime w/under-funded police replaced by street gang justice?

A growing number of government & MSM reports suggests the progressive experimentation with the traditional social & justice systems and the “perfect storm” it’s created in recent years really is turning once appealing metropolises into the “American Nightmare.” One might ask why, when the big cities had enjoyed a promising Renaissance in the 1990s, they couldn’t stand the success.

Yet, let’s connect just a few of the dots. Says the WSJ in a series of articles, white collar jobs are “disappearing” while those “professionals” that are still employed are refusing to return to the office. End result? Many city downtowns have an ongoing 50% office vacancy rate that appears to be “permanent” leaving bars, restaurants & other service providers barely making payroll there. Meanwhile, Fox News stories relate how “residents & businesses are fleeing Dem-run cities” like LA, SF, Austin & NY “in droves” as their “homeless camps wreak havoc”. As one Texas taxpayer said, “what’s happening is absolute madness.”
