Well, in some ways, can’t blame the Russian President for starting to panic as his offensive in Ukraine is faltering while that nation’s defenders are actually advancing in their country’s northeast, taking back swaths of territory and even threatening to cut off some Russian forces. “Russia will use all the instruments at its disposal to counter a threat against its territorial integrity,” Mr. Putin told his citizens before adding: “This is not a bluff.”

Well, if it’s not a bluff ala a Rockne Shift, does that mean he thinks Mother Russia itself might AGAIN be invaded by the WESTERN boogeyman, this time, NATO, which he says (almost hysterically) is preparing to nuke it? Heavy losses in manpower as well as equipment are the reason for Putin’s call up of reservists. But, what can he do after that, as the Western countries keep feeding Ukraine with volunteers & expensive arms? Fall back again but on a draft of the old and feeble? If so, is today’s Hail Mary call up of the reserves about as promising to Putin as the last desperation passes made by the Czarist regime circa 1917?
