Queen Is Dead, Long Live King, PM Liz

Disciplined, faithful Elizabeth, Britain’s longest reigning sovereign, peacefully left troubled world & will be missed … especially as she leaves behind a world of powerful dim lights incl Putin, Xi, Kim, Biden, Trudeau, Macron…

Elizabeth was arguably an enigma. At times she seemed she was going to be Queen forever, but forever without much practical power in a limited Constitutional monarchy that left her with the art of persuasion to mold her country’s fate … still, with rare exception, she fiercely kept her own political opinions to herself since she felt her nation’s laws required it to be so. As Fox News noted, she reveled in saying hello to her people in the streets, yet her people really knew so little about her … really.

And yet, as the 96-yr-old Elizabeth lay on her death bed in Scotland’s Balmoral Castle, she had to realize her oft-tortured “romantic dreamer” of a son, Charles, would soon succeed her. The Queen is dead. Long live the King. And, pray that the patient Charles is also up to the task while new PM Liz Truss is a brighter light among her dim counterparts.
