Rioters, Pols, MSM & The Gullible

A civil rights leader called out “divisive protests” & “rioting” in the name of social justice but really mock it. Yet, the cynical extremists couldn’t be doing their dirty work without enabling MSM, politicians & … ourselves.

As Rev. Markel Hutchins told Fox News’ Trey Gowdy, a “vocal minority” is monopolizing today’s socially-relevant conversations, especially around policing. Like a good preacher, Rev. Hutchins says, “We’ve got to turn to each other, turn to our faith in one another, and our faith in the divine to begin to reset conversations around police community engagement … Police officers have difficult, dangerous jobs seeing people at their worst, their lowest, their most desperate. Officers also have awesome & unique powers” that give way to their less than better angels in response.

That’s always a welcome reminder. But, the “conversation” we’re seeing & listening to is largely controlled by the media and politicians who hold the “awesome power” of the pen, that’s so powerful it can turn words into swords. And, so they do too often, just to further a given agenda or pure power grab via the old “divide & conquer” line. How many “conversations” have you read or heard that are as balanced and thought-provoking as the Reverend’s? It’s a good bet, not many. Maybe, as Rev. Hutchins also suggests, it’s the gullible folks everywhere who deserve some of the criticism for being so gullible in listening to these Blind Guides?
