Uvalde, Highland Park & Chicago

After the July 4 Highland Park shooting, a Chicago pastor calls for justice after 7 killed & 37 shot on city’s South-Side during the same holiday & calls out pols & MSM for too often ignoring the blood being spilled daily there.

While support from politicians rightly poured into Uvalde & Highland Park after the tragedies there made non-stop national news, Pastor TJ Grooms of New Beginnings Church told Fox News: “This community … is definitely not a stranger to violence … There was a mass shooting here right behind me where five victims were shot, literally right behind me.” As we know, on that same day, a gunman fired from a rooftop onto spectators watching an Independence Day parade in the affluent Chicago suburb, killing 7 and injuring 30 others, thereby attracting nationwide attention … and grief. As usual, Fox noted, the parade shooting prompted renewed calls for tighter gun-control from prominent pols, including VP Kamala Harris & Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, but without noting that Chicago deaths & shootings are breaking records.

Grooms humbly asked for “the same level of attention, the same level of concern, the same level of care that our politicians … give to an event like what we’ve seen in Highland Park. The same amount of justice that we desire to have in a city like Uvalde … for a community like this here on the South Side of Chicago …”
