There are more signs, including the Biden-led West imposing still more feckless “sanctions” & piece meal military aid to Ukraine (see WSJ’s “Abrams Tanks May Never Reach Ukraine), but why “drone” on? You’ve also seen the many MSM op eds, including Henninger’s “Ukraine Fatigue Is Not an Option,” in which the WSJ columnist warns: “It has become clear in the past several weeks that the tectonic plates of global power are shifting. The autocratic alliance of China, Russia & Iran is signaling it’s no longer content to accept an indefinite standoff of competing ideologies & commercial interests as the status quo. Russia & China are making [Ukraine] contest a test. They think the West is going to fail.”

Leave it to Henninger to remind us about “history’s lesson that unlikely events can push an already tense world off the rails. The assassination in 1914 of the Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo tipped the world toward war. A Chinese spy balloon, presumably pushed off course by the weather and floating across the US land mass, may prove to be such an event. It’s hard to ignore that China’s response to the US’s pro forma shooting down of the balloon has been unapologetic belligerence.” It’s also hard to ignore the utter contempt the modern evil axis of Iran, Russia & China are showing for the Biden Administration. Shades & signs of the German, Japanese & Italian view of Neville Chamberlain’s weakness & the lead up to WWII?
