Slow Bureaucracy Causing Rapid Test Shortages?

Again, our slow to react President Biden should have listened to red tape cutting Trump as chronic “Rapid Test Shortages” have been “Tied to Slow Federal (in)Action”, the same bureaucratic vaccine development bug-a-boo No. 45 jettisoned during his “Operation Warp Speed.”

As Austen Hufford & Brianna Abbott wrote in the WSJ, the DC Swamp’s “long authorization process is part of the nationwide failure to make & distribute enough of the tests,” especially as “rising Covid-19 infections stoked demand for tests across the U.S.” As one example of bureaucratic inefficiency, the authors noted how in December, “California-based LumiQuick Diagnostics Inc. shipped 100K rapid tests to a hospital customer – in Germany,” because LumiQuick still hadn’t received authorization from the FDA to sell Covid-19 tests domestically “after waiting several months for a decision.”

In a separate article by Dan Henninger, the columnist said he is one of the multitude of folks unsuccessfully searching for rapid test kits at local drug stores and being told by retailers they have “no idea” when they’ll receive them. Meanwhile, yet another piece quotes a medical expert warning Mr. Biden’s promised production of 500M test kits by February “won’t be nearly enough.” What was that Napoleon who said was the key to a general’s victory on any battlefield? “La Vitesse! La vitesse! Toujours La Vitesse!”?
