Soros Gives Elevator Speech, Crime Spikes

Did billionaire Soros expose his bogus justice reform ideas in WSJ by ignoring reality of criminal minds & hi price their victims pay? George, why not for once take stroll down Chicago’s 63rd & Stoney to clear your head?

As many may have seen, the radical was given space in the WSJ to defend his millions spent on “reform prosecutors” who have systematically pushed easy or no bail as well as non-prosecution policies, even while inner-city crime spikes to record levels. “Americans desperately need a more thoughtful discussion about our response to crime,” Soros pleaded. Problem is, wrote Rafael Mangual in the City Journal, “Soros’ piece failed to deliver that thoughtful discussion. Instead [he] offered a shallow, essentially data-free collection of platitudes …”

For example, Mangual wrote, while most thinking people are as concerned as Soros that “black people in the US are five times as likely to be sent to jail as white people,” they also need to know a Bureau of Justice Statistics study of homicides between 1980 & 2008 found Blacks commit homicide offenses “almost eight times” more often than whites … and the Black-on-Black problem seems to have gotten worse since. Notes Mangual again: “In 2020 – a year in which homicides rose nearly 30% across the US – the share of White homicide victims actually declined by 2.4% relative to 2019, while the share of Black & Hispanic victims increased by 2.2%. The Black homicide victimization rate was almost 10 times the white rate that year.” Ignoring this nightmare educates & helps no one. Yet, how much harm is being piled onto the carnage by Soro-backed DAs who have foolishly “reimagined public safety” only to expose us all to more crime?
