Taking Issue With DeSanctimonious

Did “DeSanctimonious” AGAIN blow off Trumped up nickname & show self to be the leader USA needs? Was jab at a rally necessary as No. 46 leads Mr. Wanna-be 7-1 in the polls for a possible contest 2 years from now?

Go figure. Just days before the mid-terms, former President Trump floated his seemingly trademarked verbal assault on a would-be opponent in the 2024 GOP primaries, even though the supposed challenger let alone the challenged haven’t even declared they are candidates. And, this time Fox News as well as Trump’s ex-SOS Mike Pompeo noted, the mocked Fla. Gov. Ron DeSantis “is among the most popular and successful Republicans in the country.” The Trump rally crowd that heard the jab reportedly didn’t react much. And, Mr. DeSantis has repeatedly said he considers Mr. Trump a “friend”. But, The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh may have articulated the potential boomerang effect of Mr. Trump’s penchant for burning bridges he needs to reoccupy the White House: “Trump isn’t going to be able to take this [effective & popular candidate] down with a dumb nickname … three days before the midterms when we’re supposed to be showing a united front.”

Well, judging from the various stories published on the one-liner, the Democrats & MSM allies liked the Trumpian crack & what they see as a “right wing” over reaction that will “divide” the GOP better than anything they do or say. Arguably, anything is welcome to them to help offset the embarrassment their own Mr. Divisive keeps dishing out. But, is it asking too much for ANY president or candidate to stay focused on the issues?
