Texas Goes Windmill ala Quixote, Tilts To Black Outs

Fox News’ Tucker Carlson did not sugar coat another Green Deal blind spot in his monologue, “The great Texas climate catastrophe is heading your way.” Said Tucker: “Well, the good news is all that alternative energy seems to have had a remarkable effect on the climate. Sunday night, parts of Texas got the temperatures that we typically see in Alaska. In fact, they were the same as they were in Alaska [or Chicago or Minneapolis]. So global warming is no longer a pressing concern in Houston.”

Drum roll…”The bad news is, they don’t have electricity. The windmills froze, so the power grid failed. Millions of Texans woke up Monday morning having to boil their water because with no electricity, it couldn’t be purified. The ironically named Electric Reliability Council of Texas, which oversees the grid, had no solution to any of this…” other than to mandate rolling blackouts.

As Tucker noted, God only knows how many folks will die from either freezing to death or affixation from “jury-rigged heaters & barbecues & car exhaust.” But, the real irony perhaps is that the nation’s leading oil & gas producer, Texas, somehow wasn’t prepared for the inevitable. Why not? Says Tucker, the state’s pols “took the fashionable route & became recklessly reliant on so-called alternative energy, meaning, windmills.” Up to a quarter of the state’s electricity was suddenly “alt” aka windmill produced. Don Quixote could have told them to hold their horses until if & when you know what was ready.
