Time To Act Like Opioid Crisis Is A War?

AG tells Congress Cte American fentanyl crisis “unleashed on purpose by Mexican drug cartels so that fentanyl deaths outnumber gun & car deaths combined BUT can we hear more about China’s supplying the crap to them?

There’s, of course, enough blame to go around besides the cartels & their business partners in China. Merrick Garland says the Mexican government “needs to do much more” to combat drug trafficking. But, the Biden Administration itself has done precious little to staunch the sieve-like open border, thereby letting the cartels nothing short of free passes into the US to distribute. And, our own pharma-medical profession has arguably done a piss-poor job of managing patients’ accessibility to & use of opioids. Nor should we discount the drug culture that’s swept our country, veritably turning our society, increasingly intolerant to any kind of discomfort, into pill poppers. The state & federal policies contributing to the connection between drug addiction & homelessness is still another outrage …

But, back to the southern border where the “main driver” of the opioid crisis is unfolding in real time. As a Fox News report recently noted, “Border Patrol seized enough fentanyl [at various points of entry] to kill 100 million Americans in under five months.” That’s more potential cadavers than people living in California, Texas and New York combined, the agency noted. As one mom who lost her two young sons to overdoses recently told Congress during an earlier hearing: “This is a war. Act like it.”
