Time To Rap Head Around Drill Music’s Culture Vultures?

NYC’s mayor as well as Fox’s ever-woke pundit Juan Williams shocked by blaming rap music for much of the inner-city violence we’re seeing, but Chicago’s Protesting Rooftop Pastor also ripped the “culture vultures” that promote the drill music “glorifying black death”.

Now in his 100th day vigil intended to draw national attention via a Fox series on how to address if not solve generational inner-city poverty as well as crime, Pastor Corey Brooks began by alluding to the violent death of two young rappers that made national headlines. Yet, he noted, “there’s nothing new about this for us on the South Side of Chicago … Right before me in the projects is the very home of drill music. I know all of the rappers. I’ve worked with them all. I’m not going to name these rappers … because I don’t think they are the main problem for what we’re experiencing here …”

The main problem, then? The ignorance of living amidst “abject poverty, gang banging & drugs,” then, follow the money behind drill music itself. “In the early 2010s, drill artists developed this new style of delivering their lyrics in a deadpan, monotone vocal style. While this delivery style is very understated, the lyrics are not. They’re violent, man, really violent. Drill means kill. These rappers make violent threats against rival gangs & the end result is often death.” Solution? “What made drill music so powerful in America are the music corporations. The people that run these companies are what I call ‘culture vultures’. They feed off the misery of my people … make millions off the deaths of black bodies … glorifying black death. And, they do this all the time while saying ‘Black Lives Matter.’” So, time to wave the magic Juan & wake up the fake woke barons? How about the naive people who buy this crap?
