To Save Woke Dems They Must Free Us All

After 2 years of bloody Civil War Lincoln told Northerners either disenthrall themselves of their past hypocrisy & help him free the slaves or lose the war. Today’s Democrats face a similar watershed decision: Give up woke or go broke.

Recent Fox News coverage noted how a new Gallup poll reveals a “growing number of Dems want their party to move … toward the center” after the drubbing it took in the November presidential election. Said the news outlet, “That’s up 11 percentage points since 2021, at the start of former President Biden’s single term in the White House … at the same time, Democrats’ and Independent leaners’ desire for a more liberal party has declined five points to 29%.” The signal from the rank and file is clear, yet the Dem leadership seems bent on doubling down on policies embracing the far-left mantras on such key famously woke topics as Trump derangement syndrome, the green new deal, expanding the federal bureaucracy, hiking social welfare, ignoring the nation’s $37 trillion deficit, crime & illegal immigration, transgender rights above all others’ & “disinformation” censorship.

How applicable to our own times, perhaps, was President Lincoln’s concluding remarks in his annual message to Congress on Dec. 1, 1862, days after issuing The Emancipation Proclamation: “Fellow citizens, we cannot escape history. We … will be remembered in spite of ourselves … The fiery trial through which we pass, will light us down, in honor or dishonor, to the latest generation. We say we are for the Union. The world will not forget that we say this … The world knows we do know how to save it. We – even we here – hold the power & bear the responsibility. In giving freedom to the slave, we assure freedom to the free – honorable alike in what we give & what we preserve. We shall nobly save or meanly lose, the last best hope of earth.”
