Trump’s Lawyers No Longer Fear ACLU

ACLU was a key part of the “resistance” to Trump No. 45 & engaged in lawfare against him since. Despite trash talk by fellow opponents since Nov. election, the Soros-backed group this inaguration day will likely find a “tougher fundraising, legal & political environment.”

That was the gist of the recent WSJ piece noting a new reality: “This time around, liberal enthusiasm has waned in the wake of Vice President Kamala Harris’s loss. Advocacy groups are facing a stagnant fundraising environment as exhaustion sets in. And the ACLU is among a number of groups experiencing pushback from Democrats who blame progressives for pushing the party too far to the left.” Meanwhile, they "protest" in DC but over what exactly?

More bad news for the ACLU: Think about that Supreme Court decision confirming a sitting president’s sweeping (if not total) immunity from official acts, then, wave good-bye to most of the law fare waged against Trump. It’s arguably one of many manifestations of No. 45’s ability to nominate & confirm 3 Justices to the High Court, making the judiciary “more conservative than it was at the beginning of Trump’s first term.” Moreover, we can expect his more experienced lawyers in the second term to “make fewer legal mistakes … than it did in rushing to craft new policies eight years ago.” Not that the ambitious Trump will make things easy for his legal team as he pushes a realpolitik agenda filled with controversial legal issues, such as mass deportation of illegal aliens with criminal records & an end to progressive mandates involving energy, women’s rights & pandemic health care. Yet, this time, Trump & his mouth pieces will have a much clearer idea of what they can & can’t do under the Constitution. So who’s afraid of the Big Bad ACLU now?
