Trump’s Operation Warp Speed Gets Credit W/O Biden

One of the unfathomable failings of the Biden Administration arguably has been its downplaying of Trump’s Operation Warp Speed development of Covid therapeutics as well as vaccines. In Allysia Finley’s WSJ op ed, it’s noted how “the program’s premature abandonment left the country unprepared for the Delta & Omicron waves.”

Even without the new variants, thousands were still dying from Covid-19 while the virus was expected to be an annual plague ala influenza so why … other than anti-Trump obsession … take the foot off the research accelerator? As Ms. Finley writes, “The Trump administration’s Operation Warp Speed delivered three Covid-19 vaccines in record time. Yet, liberals are giving the program its due only now, amid President Biden’s Covid-19 stumbles. Some, including former Biden adviser Ezekiel Emanuel are even calling for another OWS to boost therapies (two monoclonal antibody treatments having already been delivered last year.)

Well, instead of throwing government aka taxpayer money at therapeutics & vaccines research ala Trump’s “all hands on deck” approach, the Biden team appears to have had a “Bigger Better Battle” in fighting the theoreticly unstoppable viruses by mandating loose-fitting masks made in China, multiple albeit imperfect vaccinations & never-ending draconian lockdowns while throwing money at state & federal agencies & other progressive constituencies to “get the job done” like they were foreign sovereign aid recipients.
