UK Studies Say Covid Death Risk Rare For Kids Yet…
So, the WSJ is reporting the latest exhaustive UK studies show “Covid-19 Death Risk Is Extremely Low in Children.” In fact, they suggest “the threat might be even lower than previously thought.” Yet, will it stop the largest teachers unions from continuing to resist re-opening the schools without satisfying their draconian “safety” demands? We’ll see.
Not that All health risks to children, including influenza & diseases targeting youths, shouldn’t be taken seriously by educators. Yet, we now know “some 99.995% of the 469,982 children in England who were infected during the year examined by researchers survived. In fact … among the 61 child deaths linked to a positive Covid-19 test in England, 25 were actually caused by the illness.”
Nor will policy makers stop worrying over recommending vaccine shots for young students as parents try to get a handle on balancing this low risk of serious illness with those associated with any vaccination program. As the WSJ noted, “Some parents have been concerned about giving messenger RNA vaccines from Pfizer or Moderna to adolescents because of the risk of a rare inflammatory heart condition.” The CDC says the vaccine benefits outweigh the risks. What say you?
