Ukrainian Refugees Get Different Clarion Call At Border

Can someone explain how President Biden can wink at “thousands of people a day” crossing the US border willy nilly but “work hard to find avenues” for 100K Ukrainian refugees to enter our country upon fleeing Putin’s war?

True, as the WSJ points out, there are laws that dictate when a migrant or asylum seeker or refugee may enter the US legally, and finding the right “pathway” for any given person or family may be more complicated than one might think. Yet, why limit the generous gesture to 100K Ukrainians when Mr. Biden knows full well that Mexican & South American arrivals are pouring across his open border without any limit at all, i.e., so long as they are coached to say the magic words, “asylum.” Meanwhile, the WSJ says, “more than 10M people in Ukraine have been uprooted by the fighting [and the UN estimates] more than 3.6M have fled the country, most bound for Poland.”

Even a declining Mr. Biden can’t think the Mexican, Paraguayan, Cenepa and Leticia Wars are still going on and are triggering that flood of humanity to the US’s southern border. But, it’s not hard to imagine those Ukrainians, who are fleeing a dictator, are far less likely to vote for Joe’s far left leaning agenda.
