Va’s Black Lt Gov Overcomes Petty Pols With Shoe Gavel

Virginia’s black Lt. Gov Winsome Sears used her leather high heel to gavel in the state Senate after the body’s gavel went missing. Independent GOPer Sears gets my vote over rubber stamper Dem VP Harris who might think it ok to use Schumer’s hard head in US Senate under similar circumstances.

As the UK’s Daily Mail put it, the state’s first Black woman Lt Gov “brought government to heel!” when the Republican used “her patent leather STILETTO to bring state Senate to order after prankster stole the gavel.” As she banged the black heel on the podium, Sears declared, “One shoe can change your life. Just ask Cinderella.”

Washington Post reporter Laura Vozzella tweeted a close-up photo of the shoe, with Sears responding, “Resourcefulness – never underestimate it.” Nor underestimate the apparent pettiness of political opponents?
