Va School Supt Fired 4 Sex Assault Cover Up
Loudon County’s school bd fired Supt Scott Ziegler after a blistering grand jury report called him on covering up 2 sexual assaults allegedly committed by the same student. Yet, where was the bd as he tried to erase evidence?
As Fox News noted, “the Northern Virginia district drew national attention last year after a father accused it at a school board meeting of covering up his daughter’s sexual assault in which a biological boy wearing a skirt raped her in the girls’ bathroom. The suspect then transferred to another school in the district” and allegedly assaulted another girl.” He faced charges in both cases, but the father accused the district of covering up his daughter’s attack to advance its transgender policy, which had been protested by angry parents at LCPS school board meetings.
According to the grand jury report, the district was looking out for its own interests instead of the best interests of its students and that the school system “failed at every juncture” as well as displayed a “stunning lack of openness, transparency and accountability, both to the public and to the special grand jury.” Ziegler was also singled out for denying he had knowledge of the first assault and insisted “the predator transgender student or person simply does not exist” and he had “no record of assaults occurring in our restrooms,” even though he had alerted school board members that an assault had indeed been reported. Ahem. So, good show firing Ziegler. But, why didn’t the school board incumbents fire themselves as well?
