Verdict In Nusrat’s Murder By Fire Trial Is Small Fried Compared 2 God’s Justice

The Fox News headline may not have done Justice justice: “16 Sentenced to death in Nusrat Jahan Fafi’s murder.” You might recall all the accused were said to have played a role in the young lady’s burning to quash her complaint that a teach had touched her inappropriately. Truth is, evil lies have been used throughout history by demons and humans alike to suppress innocents like Nusrat. Evil is still very much in vogue against anyone who bucks the more powerful. But, it’s especially frustrating when it’s been used against women. Look at the sex scandal mess over at NBC unfolding before our eyes.

But, back to burning women at the stake ala Salem. This ugliest of incidents, the verdict be damned, reminds me of the less dramatic yet just as harmful ongoing slander of Mary Magdalene. She has constantly been cast in many circles as a prostitute who befriended Jesus. In my novel “One to the Fourth Degree - The Marian Conspiracy,” I noted the lack of ANY support in Scripture for such a canard and pointed to its genesis in a home for wayward women in the Middle Ages that happened to be named after her. Bingo. Idiots in the biased media of the time ran with the slam. Never mind that, Magdalene, although a sufferer of some mental disorder (Bipolar? Migraine? Depression?), was so genuinely holy in Jesus’ presence that He honored HER with His first sighting upon resurrecting Himself.

Was Magdalene the first women’s libbers? Mother Mary may have beat her to it when Archangel Gabriel asked her if she’d be willing to serve the Lord (and she said “yes”) in the most honored way possible. Hence, the “Marian Movement” that continues to evolve through Divine inspiration today. In his seminal book “Women Shall Conquer,” Don Sharkey suggests women are destined to LEAD mankind rather than follow. It’s God’s will, I’d argue. If so, no human verdict, including in Nusrat’s case, can over-shadow God’s eternal judgment in the matter, whatever it may be and which Lincoln would have rightly considered most just.
