White Sox Over Astros A Sign: Win & They Will Come

The best team in Chicago today (if not all MLB) is the 1st place White Sox who BEAT the powerful Astros two games to one over the weekend before 34K each night.

I emphasize BEAT for a reason. True, the Astros won easily 7-1 in Friday’s series opener. But, on Saturday, the Sox hit 4 home runs in a 10-1 romp while Lucas Giolito pitched a 3-hit complete game. Then, on Sunday, the White Sox won 4-0 behind another dominance pitching performance. And, I emphasize DOMINANCE as, per ESPN, starter Carlos Rodon “allowed one hit through seven DOMINANT innings”.

What was particularly gratifying in "the return from the city's Covid lockdown" was to see the White Sox Park filled with fans (if not to 41K capacity). While the Cubs in recent years have been the most popular baseball venue in the Toddlin’ Town, the White Sox are proving the old adage: “Win and they will come.”
