Will Trump Trample The Word Aficionado?

You can almost hear the wheels grinding in the Trump & Harris camps as both sides play a cat & mouse game over the when, where & how to debate on TV. Harris is a proven word salad aficionado so why doesn’t Trump just eat her lunch as he did Biden’s?

As WSJ’s William McGurn recently suggested, just shut up and “Debate Kamala Harris, Mr. Trump … while your demurral may be a negotiating tactic, you have a lot to gain by facing the Vice President.” You might recall that Trump didn’t just win his June 27 debate with Joe Biden, the shellacking would eventually force No. 4 to withdraw from the race. Eerily, Ms. Harris was compelled to drop out of the 2020 Democratic primaries after also getting "mixed reviews" in a series of debates.

So, agreed Mr. McGurn, it would seem, Mr. Trump has every reason to stop pointing out the obvious. That is, that his earlier agreement was to debate Biden on ABC, a network he is suing for defamation, & he has every right to insist on debating Harris on the friendlier confines of Fox … and with an audience this time. But, right, schmite.  Publicly & legally blistered ABC wouldn’t dare try to screw Trump again on national tv, at least, any more than CNN did in Biden’s Debate Debacle. And, for the love of St. Peter, for once forget about a circus atmosphere with supporters on both sides making jack asses of everyone. Focus on the issues & records, then, punt to the word chef of chefs. As McGurn pleaded, just “Debate Kamala Harris, Mr. Trump.”
